Illinois High School Diploma
Illinois High School Diploma Program at IVCC
IVCC administers the GED® as an option to fulfill your Illinois State High School Diploma. The GED covers four academic areas: Language Arts (Writing and Reading), Math, Science and Social Students. Illinois also utilizes the HiSET and the TASC as other options to obtain your Illinois State High School Diploma.
The tests range from 75 to 150 minutes each. The testing schedule is purposefully set up to allow an individual to take at least two of the exams on the same day. Candidates will need to plan for a minimum of two days for testing to complete all four subject areas.
Illinois residents must also pass a Constitution exam that focuses on the US and Illinois state Constitutions. The Constitution exam is administered by IVCC Adult Education office. Individuals that can produce an official high school transcript or verified letter from an Illinois high school that verifies the Constitution requirement was met before the student left high school do not have to take the Constitution exam.
